Deposits are non-refundable.

If you cancel within fourteen days prior to departure you forfeit your deposit but if you cancel outside the fourteen days you can transfer your deposit to another trip so long as the trip is within a twelve month period from the date of cancellation. Failure to use your deposit within the twelve month period will mean the deposit is forfeit.

Balance payments are non-refundable.

If you cancel within fourteen days prior to departure you forfeit your balance payment but if you cancel outside the fourteen days you can transfer your balance payment to another trip within a twelve month period from the date of cancellation. Failure to use your balance payment within the twelve month period will mean the balance payment is forfeit.

There will be no transfer fee applied should you transfer any payment to another date within the timeframe specified above.

If we cancel any guided Camino trip due to lack of numbers we will offer one of the following options

  1. Full refund of all payments made to us.
  2. Transfer of your payment to another trip.
  3. The opportunity to continue self guided.

If we cancel a walking weekend or a trek due to lack of numbers we will offer one of the following options

  1. Full refund of all payments made to us.
  2. Transfer of your payment to another trip.

You should have travel insurance in place once you pay your deposit. You may wish to claim from your insurance should you have to cancel within the two week limit specified above or if you do not wish to have your payment(s) transferred to a trip at a later date.

If we have to cancel a trip/package because of COVID-19, a force majeure or an Act of God then Into the West Adventures will issue full refunds or reschedule your trip for a later date or move your payment to another trip/package. We will not be liable for any other financial loss to the client such as, flights, transfers, accommodation outside our package, vaccination costs or any costs of a personal nature.

We do not match people up for sharing as we rarely get anyone willing to share with a stranger. If you do not have someone to share with you must book a single room.

Due to Covid – 19 (Coronavirus) there may be screening or a test in the countries that we visit. If you fail a screening or test and cannot continue with the group the financial cost is not the responsibility of Into the West Adventures. No refunds or transfers of payments will be possible if such a thing happens at any stage on any of our trips, weekends or packages.

For Camino trips whether guided or self guided you should have medical insurance or the E111 card.

For our treks in Ethiopia, Namibia and Peru you should have medical insurance and travel insurance that includes emergency extraction cover. Be sure to engage with you travel insurance provider to make sure you have adequate insurance in place for the trek you are undertaking.

Airport transfers are for people who have booked one of our packages. You cannot add people to the transfer if they have not booked with us.

In the case of our Camino packages it is one piece of luggage per person for transfer each day. You must notify us if you intend bringing extra luggage so you can pay for it in advance. Luggage that is not paid for in advance will be left behind. Couples or friends using one piece of transferred luggage between them can notify us at the time of booking and we will deduct the transfer cost of the second piece of luggage. Please limit transfer luggage to 20kg.

Flights will be recommended for each trip. While you are free to book whatever flight you wish, a flight other than the one recommended may result in you missing the transfer to the hotel. Should you miss the transfer you will have organise and pay for another transfer. For the Namibia trip you must book a flight that gets you to the arrival airport in time for the transfer.

If you book any of our guided Camino walking trips or treks it is important that you follow the instructions from your guide(s). All guided groups will start walking together each morning. We encourage everyone walking/trekking with us to do so at a pace that is comfortable for them but we will all start the day together unless you are ruled out by illness or injury.

You must ensure that you are fit enough to partake in the walks/treks that you book with us. If you have an underlying medical condition you must consult with your Doctor before booking with us. It is your personal responsibility to prepare properly and ensure that you have the correct gear and equipment for the trip that you book. Advice will be given on what to bring for the trip that you have booked.

Into the West Adventures, our representatives and guides reserve the right to refuse participation on any of our day hikes/walks, island walking experiences or treks if one of the following occurs,

  • You do not have the right gear for the terrain and weather.
  • You are deemed too unwell to participate/continue.
  • You are intoxicated at the start of or during a walk/trek.
  • A lack of fitness means you are in danger of injuring yourself.
