It is with great pleasure I recommend Mark Reynolds and his company Into the West Adventures. I recently completed the Sarria to Santiago route of the Camino Way with Mark. From The outset Mark was extremely helpful with booking and ever ready to answer questions prior to the trip, recommending what was required to bring along for the trip. Unlike other trips I have been on, the trip started in the airport which allowed for the group to meet and people to relax not having to worry about meeting on the other side. I found Mark to have been not only helpful and knowledge in his surroundings and history of the route but I found his pleasant and cheerful manner made the trip so much more enjoyable and entertaining for all. From traveling with Into the west adventures I would have to commend Mark's impeccable organisational skills throughout the trip from transfers to and from the airport, excellent accommodation selection, recommendations for dinner and places to visit on route. Overall I have been extremely impressed by not only the trip but by Mark himself and would highly recommend both Mark and his tour company Into the West Adventures to all solo travellers, groups and families alike. Thank you Mark for the fantastic experience, may there be plenty more in the future.
I recently returned from a very enjoyable week long trip on the Camino under the expert guidance of Mark from Into The West Adventures.
It was extremely well organised from start to finish with good accommodation, luggage transfers, and transport to and from the airport. Every detail was well thought out and seamless.
Mark is a great character, very professional, conscientious and reliable. I would like to thank him sincerely for a memorable and fun trip, and wish him every success in the future
I am just back from a wonderful trip on the Camino organised by Into the West Adventures. This was my first walking holiday. I travelled from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela over five nights. There were six in total in the group. The trip was very well organised, the accommodation was excellent and the transfers were seamless. The evening meal was not included but the pilgrim meal; a three course dinner including the wine was on average ten euro. This trip was, in my opinion excellent value for money. Although we were up early every day, (we started walking before it was got too warm) I feel I had a great break. The scenery in the North of Spain is truly breath taking. I felt it was great achievement to complete the walk. The trip was so professionally coordinated and planned prior to and during the trip, that I literally hadn’t anything to organise at all on arrival in Spain.
I would recommend the Camino trip and Into the west Adventures without hesitation and I look forward to my next trip.
Just back from an incredible trip to Ethiopia run by into the west adventures. From the outset when I met Mark at Dublin airport I could tell it was going to be a great experience. The guy is big not just in stature but in his ability to put everyone at ease and create a friendly and easy going atmosphere even among people that may not know each other. However over the next 11 days we would all become life long friends with memories that only a few people have the privilege of experiencing. The itinerary was full and varied from museums in Addis Ababa to the vast Blue Nile Falls to my favorite the hike through the Seimien Mountains. Even after this we still had time to see the royal enclosure at Gonder and the amazing rock hewn churches of Lalabillea. Everything during our stay was provided from the accommodation to the guides, cooks, scouts and transport were all top class. Mark left nothing to chance and ensured our holiday was something we would never forget. I take this opportunity to thank him and his company for everything and wish him the best on further trips and can't wait to travel with him again.
Really sorry i wasnt able to make the ethiopia trip as the Irish trips i have been on with Into the West have been super- Inishkeas Islands, Aran, Connemara, Inishturk, Mweelrea... Great fun, great company, great craic, getting to see the best of the west of ireland. Great information provided on the tours as well. If walking the wilds and meeting both new people and regular faces is your thing, then i couldn't recommend it high enough and I look forward to the next trip!
We have just come back after a wonderful week on the Camino between Sarria and Santiago, great company, excellent weather and great craic. We had a group of 16 and were given the best of care by our leader Mark and our medic Gerry. This was particularly relevant for those who suffered from blisters etc during the trip. Our accommodation was perfect culminating in our final night in the converted seminary opposite the Cathedral in Santiago-classy!
Our group even got to see the swing of the Thurible(incense burner)in the Cathedral. Every detail was planned for with the result that the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We are looking forward to another leg of the Camino in the future.
Camino April 2016
Great food, great fun, great Company, great laughs. The whole trip was pulled together professionally and seamlessly, even down to the best egg n chips and churros n chocolate! Even the weather could not dampen our spirits!
Loved all the Hotels, (with the exception of the 1st night in Sarria), as I could smell the smoke in the room - it was clear this is or at least was, a smoking room which was offputting. I felt all of the other Hotels were far above the standard of the one on the first night.
I've been on a good few other Group Trips, but out of all the trips this was the one where the Group gelled the most. From almost the get-go, it was like we had known each other all our lives!
So thanks again
Sarria to Santiago April 2016
After a recent group tour from Sarria to Santiago as part of the Camino de Santiago, I have to say it was one of the best holiday experiences I have ever had. We were a small group of 6 including our guide and host Mark, and from the moment we all met at the airport in Dublin we gelled. Indeed by that evening it was clear it was going to be a memorable holiday.
As a guide; Mark cannot be faulted. He had our utmost confidence, even when the inclement weather conspired to make the journey a greater challenge. Fantastic personality and professional – he became not just a guide but a friend to us all.
Accommodation along the way was very good. As I shared a twin room, the rooms in all but one of the hotels was very spacious. Whilst extra’s may have been minimal, all the hotels were very clean and well presented, and the staff were very obliging and friendly.
The accommodation in Santiago itself was fantastic and highlight. An old monastery converted into a stunning hotel, that was still packed with charm and character and embodied the whole ‘pilgrimage’ aspect of the Camino walk.
The landscape between Sarria and Santiago was beautiful and was an obliging subject for some beautiful photographs taken along the way. The small churches that dotted the pilgrimage at incremental intervals were humble, spiritual and beautiful. Santiago Cathedral was by comparison was bombastic and a little ‘gaudy’. For me personally it was the antithesis of the earlier churches that met you on the pilgrimage path. Unperturbed we opted to take the optional roof tour of the cathedral and this yielded some of the most beautiful views of Santiago old town and surrounding environs and I would recommend Pilgrims take the tour. Its €10 well spent.
As a testament to how well our group gelled and how much we all enjoyed the holiday; the group have all stayed in touch after and are planning on taking further tours with Into The West Adventures together. I would whole heartedly recommend the trip and thank Into The West Adventures & Mark for making April 2016 so memorable. Poncho included.

I’ve just completed the final part of the Camino Way with Mark and Cormac ” Into the West Adventures” and I’d just like to say it was so well organised in a lovely, quiet, unassuming way.
The trip went like clockwork and to top it off we had beautiful weather.
This trip is a MUST DO and you MUST DO it with” Into the West Adventures”.
I will definitely walk with Mark and Cormac again. Maybe the Camino next year starting in Biarritz or maybe I’ll join one of the trips to Inishbrofen / Inishark / Achill / Claire Island.
I will happily recommend “Into the West Adventures” to all my fellow walkers in the UK

The self guided Camino trip arranged by Mark at into the west adventures in June this year was tailored to my requirements. From Pamplona to Santa Domingo All Accomodation was excellent and just off of or near to Camino route, baggage transfer went with out a hitch , the pack that came for the trip was so helpful will all the coffee and lunch spots marked out and dinner suggestions. Nice touch if you were a first time Camino walker pilgrim shell and passport and guide book included. All my query emails were promptly responded to some times from the Camino itself. This was my third Camino trip, first with Into the West Adventures I would highly recommend, and will use the company again.

"Having just returned from the July trip “Sarria to Santiago” I just want to compliment Mark Reynolds and “Into the West Adventures”, for me it was a wonderful trip, something I wanted to do for an awful long time, going solo and meeting the rest of the group at Dublin airport added to the adventure. We were a small group but we all got on. The trip was a mix of good fun, good company and laughter, but there was also adequate time for quiet time and reflection. Overall I am delighted that I did the trip and I hope to challenge myself with a future trip to St Jean Pied de Port to Los Arcos. Once again Mark thanks for your friendship, your professionalism and your time".
