"Achill Island`s rugged mountains offer some of the best hillwalking opportunities in Ireland. The two highest peaks are Slievemore (671m) and Croaghaun (668m), with other significant hilltops at Minaun (466m) and Knockmore (337m). Hiking on Croaghaun means experiencing its stunning cliffs(reputedly the highest sea cliffs in Europe) on it`s north east side, which drop all the way to the sea, as well as corrie lakes and views of Achill head..When hiking on Slievemore mountain we usually start at the deserted village and end by dropping down to Dugort where you can relax by the beautiful beach there. On a clear day you can take in the interior of the island from these wonderful viewpoints or you can look to the sea with Clare island at the mouth of Clew bay or northwards to the Inishkeas and the Mullet peninsula.
We also organise walks on the nearby Corraun Peninsula which include the beautiful walk up Corraun Hill.
We can arrange day trips for people with limited time but to really experience Achill at it`s best we recommend a night or two.
Day trips cost €45 per person(min 4 people)Lunches are extra.
